It is used in the treatment of painful and inflammatory conditions of the skin, such as rheumatic and muscular pain, period pain, strains and sprains, and headaches. The active ingredient is diclofenac which belongs to a class of antibiotics. Diclofenac is an anti-inflammatory which can help reduce swelling and pain in muscles and joints.
Apply this gel to the affected area 3 times daily, every 3 days. Gently apply to the affected area where the pain is and continue for 1 hour after the application. Do not use for more than 2 weeks unless otherwise directed by a doctor.

Voltaren Emulgel is used to treat inflammation of tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints due to trauma (eg. sports injuries, sprains and strains). Other treatments include local anesthetics, steroid patches and heat packs. Voltaren Emulgel contains the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), diclofenac. Diclofenac diethylamine is known to cause gastrointestinal upset, a stomach ulcer or perforation, bleeding, or perforation, which can be fatal. If a child has asthma, call your doctor or the Poison Control Center at the nearest hospital. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for a list of medications.
Voltaren Rapid 25 may cause serious, possibly fatal, upper respiratory tract, skin or soft tissue irritation, bleeding or thrombosis. If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Do not use Voltaren Rapid 25 on children under 12 years of age.
